Why December is My Favorite Month of the Year

Why December is My Favorite Month of the Year

For a while now, December has become my absolute favorite month of the year, and I honestly can't explain why. It's not because I'm on vacation or spending my days in a snow-covered mountain cabin—far from it. I'm living in one of the busiest, most chaotic cities in the world—Delhi. Yet, there’s something magical about December that fills me with an overwhelming sense of joy and excitement. I can’t help but feel "A" for AWESOME, 24/7.

In my small world—moving between home, work, and the crowded metro—December offers a refreshing break from the usual grind. Delhi’s metro system, known for its packed trains and occasional chaos, can feel annoying at times, but during this month, it doesn’t seem to bother me as much. Despite the daily rush and crowded spaces, I find myself smiling through the madness. It’s like the holiday spirit has taken over my heart, making me a little more patient and a lot more positive.

One of the things I love most about December is the weather. The cool, crisp air that sweeps through the city makes it the perfect time to get creative with clothing. It's not too cold to lock yourself indoors, but just chilly enough to layer up with cozy sweaters, scarves, and jackets. I’ve been indulging in all kinds of seasonal snacks—everything from spicy street food to warm, comforting sweets. It’s the time of year when I throw calorie-counting out the window and just enjoy all the flavors the month has to offer. After all, December’s all about indulgence, right?

But what really makes this month special is the quality time spent with my family. My first grader and my little infant bring so much joy into our home. They are truly little “angels” at this stage, and every moment with them feels magical. Whether it's watching them play or simply sharing stories, the energy they bring fills the house with warmth. My better half is always there, pampering me with delicious homemade meals, ensuring my favorite foods are at the center of our table. These simple acts of love are what make December so cozy and comforting.

As night falls, we immerse ourselves in one of my favorite traditions—watching Christmas movies together. Every evening, we snuggle up on the couch, with blankets, popcorn, and hot chocolate in hand, as we dive into the festive films that seem to transport us to faraway places. Watching those snow-covered streets, brightly lit with decorations, makes us dream of experiencing those festive locations firsthand. We imagine ourselves walking down those vibrant streets, surrounded by twinkling lights, the air crisp and filled with holiday cheer. It’s like stepping into a dream where all the worries of the year fade away, and for a moment, we can just enjoy the beauty of the season.

The thing about these movies is that they don’t just offer an escape—they inspire us. They remind us that there’s more to life than the daily grind. December has a way of giving us hope for the future, a sense that, like a sapling that grows into a fruitful tree, we too can evolve and thrive. It’s this feeling of optimism that December brings, a fresh perspective that helps us leave behind any negativity from the year and look ahead with hope and anticipation.

I’m sure you can find your own reasons to love December. Whether it's the Christmas lights, the time with family, the delicious food, or simply the joy of dreaming about a brighter future, this month offers something magical. It’s a time to slow down, reflect, and soak in all the little moments that make life beautiful. December has a way of filling us with gratitude, reminding us of the things that matter most—love, laughter, and the promise of a fresh start in the new year.

So as the year winds down and the holiday season is in full swing, let’s embrace the magic that December brings. Let’s enjoy the warmth of our loved ones, the festive spirit in the air, and the hope that the future holds. Here’s wishing you all the joy and happiness that this special month has to offer. Happy holidays!

Best Tourist Places to Visit in Varanasi | Holy City of God

Best Tourist Places to Visit in Varanasi

It's my friend's idea to visit Varanasi this summer and i was not so convinced about it.
But to my surprise this is one of the best spiritual city in the world, filled with a very rich cultural values.
It took eleven hours via train from Delhi to reach and the day was super sunny and it was the month of June so within no time we put our goggles on and voila we are in the majestic city of Varanasi.

We took autorickshaw to reach our Hotel "Hotel Sita" which is situated on the Ghat itself "Chousatti Ghat" to be precise. Here is a picture from our room's balcony.

Upon Twilight we went out of our hotel towards Assi Ghat to take Cruise ride, which is actually a fun ride when your are with family and friends and the experience of this cruise will last for a long time.
The cruise will come at a cost of 700-900 INR but it surely worth every penny, as it is a very convenient way to visit all the ghats of Banaras in such a hot weather.

Let's start our Journey on ghats through these images.

Dashashwamedh Ghat - Aarti at this ghat is really amazing.

Manikarnika Ghat - Cremation Ghat

The lights on the ghats also enriched our experience and it made us to forget the daily hustle of modern day lives.

Kashi Vishwanath Temple we visited the next morning but no cameras were allowed there.

Also we really liked our visit to BHU campus and Chinese and Tibetan temple at Sarnath provided us a unique experience of an amazing architecture.

Varanasi is the oldest city in India and so contains the old-world charm within its surroundings. The city is full of culture and the the holiest cities in India. Renowned Indian writers like Tulsidas wrote Ram Charit Manas here. The city is known for its gold and silver thread work, wooden toys, carpet weaving, glass bangles, perfumes, a variety of handicrafts and artistic brass ware.

Vinesh Phogat The True Wrestler of Modern India

Sports personalities have a very solid fan base in our country as very few make it big and shine among the stars. Recently, I was revisiting my Facebook cover photos and an update of 2014 had a picture of this wrestler, holding a gold medal and there is a bright light in her eyes, clearly demonstrating the sense of pride to won a medal for the country and make the dream come true of many Indians.

Well, unlike many, I also posted this picture of hers on social media and tried to experience the feeling.

She became the first Indian woman wrestler to win gold in both Commonwealth and Asian Games.
Time passed by a in 2016 came one of the biggest Bollywood movie from the legendary actor Aamir Khan "Dangal", showing the struggle of two young wrestler sisters Geeta and Babita Phogat and this film took a huge leap in cinemas not only in India but abroad too. And One dialogue was all over on people's mind "Choriyan Choro se Kam hai ke"?

Mostly I have seen sportsmen and sportswomen to get good and huge sum of money from Government and few local politicians praising them for what they did and announce an x amount but this gesture is surely depends upon the tournament name whether it is a national or international and certainly the awards and recognition takes into consideration what medal one has won, Bronze, Silver or Gold....

Afterwards the sportsmen shortly starting to come in commercials and branding the products which they say that they are personally using for years and helped them in becoming what they are today.
And I get that, years of hard work and now thing are in place and they have every right to do so. And lastly the medal winner gets a decent and promising government job offer even though the government jobs are decreasing and not to mention how much a typical youth had to go through to get a job from government by crossing multiple exams and years of coaching.

But it is part of the system as we called and everyone wants to reap the benefits of one's hard work and it becomes a wormhole of success especially to politicians to use them as a ladder to get into spotlight.

However, Vinesh continued to paly her game and she even won the BBC Indian Sportswoman Of The Year award for 2022.

Now came the year 2023 and it is the time of winters and in Delhi the winters are hard and ruthless and the news started coming of wrestlers sitting on protest at Jantar Mantar on a issue which is almost unheard in our civil society where the women wrestlers alleged about sexual harassment and the media got activated as big names are present in this protest.

Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat have stunned the country as this is the year of Amritkal and modern India cannot be seen under unhappy and protesting sportswomen.
Soon the Officials came and ensured the protesters that everything will be ok and a committee was setup which is a evergreen remedy to all the protester and act as a magic to shut or reduce the revolting voice. Few Months gone and again the protesters came back to the capital and this time they are much prepared and much clear intention demonstrated they are facing everyday challenge and continued their practice session on the streets of Delhi.

The people started gathering and the number kept increasing and this time political faces also started visiting them and showing their support. What surprised us is lack of the support from big sportsmen from "Cricket" as it is the biggest sport of our country where the players are considered GOD but they decided to keep themselves away form this and Bollywood also which follows a trend of sports films, one after another and showing the art and passion of film making on this subject and even making women played strong women characters to "empower" them. No one, the Celebrities, Film makers, Stars of the Millennium or even Actress support this cause or even tweeted on this subject.

Well till this day we have seen no big action from the authorities and the victims are helpless but they are still keeping their faith on the law and hopeful one day justice will be delivered.

Lastly, to me this is very disheartening to see how this women got treated, she do not deserve this type of treatment. The pain in her eyes is questioning everyone and wants us to look into the eyes in front of the mirror and ask WHAT DO YOU DREAM OF?
